Inter School Tournament @ Skehanagh park

Inter School Tournament @ Skehanagh Park Friday October 21st 2011

Watergrasshill United, on behalf of Watergrasshill & Glenville National Schools, hosted at our facilities in Skehanagh, an inter school tournament for 180 children, from 1st to 6th classes, boys and girls.

Numerous games, between both schools, ensured a fun and competitive outing. We also arranged to have 'concept coaching' available for children between games. These training sessions concentrate on children's technical abilities and skills and bring a more diverse angle to modern coaching methods.

Both Rathcormac and Bartlemy NS were also invited to participate but unfortunately couldn't attend on this occasion. We do hope however to see their involvement in future events run by us.

Thanks to school principals Pat O Brien, Michael O Donnelly and all staff from both schools for their support on this highly successful event.

Watergrasshill United funded, and in keeping with healthy eating patterns, water, fruit and popcorn for all participants PLUS a FREE ticket to see Cork City v Longford Town that same evening. Cork City won 3-1.

As a Club we continue to give back within the community to promote sport and fair play at all times. We thank sincerely all our VOLUNTEERS who continuously give up their time and energies to make this happen.

Thanks to Dean Roche and John O Regan who ensure our facilities are always up to a top standard and ready for such 'community days' like today, often at very short notice.
