Dec 18th – U15 V Carrigaline

The Watergrasshill u15s had a good 5-0 league win away to Carrigaline Hibernians last weekend. We started very slowly and in truth were lifeless for the first 30 min. This is probably because training has been non existant for the last 6 weeks due to the bad weather. Thankfully we improved as the game went on and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Goalscorers were Dylan McCarthy (2), Aaron Collins, Conor O Brien and Eoin Hammond finished the scoring with a great finish. Even though we will have to improve in the games ahead the clean sheet was most welcome. Best on the day were Dilan O Donovan, Adam Murphy, Josh Cooke and Chris Prendergast. On of the harder aspects of managing this team is trying to accommodate a panel of 16-18 good and commited players in an 11 a side game. This is where friendlies and practice matches help but players and parents also have to have patience and accept that it just not possible for all to play 100% of the time.
