Jan 21st – Under 12 Local Cup – Evergeen (0) – (3) WGH

On Saturday Jan 21 we travelled to Evergreen for the first round in the local cup. We got off to the perfect start, within 1 minute of the kickoff Colin Cronin broke into Evergreen's box with the ball to score the opening goal. An ideal start to help us settle. We continued to dominate the game and were rewarded in the 20 minute when Tom Murray struck a loose ball from outside Evergreen's box from a coner kick to score WGH second of the day. Evergreen started getting more into the game and were pushing hard for their opening goal and as a result we caught them on the break for our third goal when Sean Desmond released Colin Cronin to get his second of the day. Half time finished Evergreen 0-3 WGH. In the second half Evergreen pushed us hard but our keeper and back line stood firm. We were unlucky not to capitalize on our 3 goals from the first half. The game finished Evergreen 0-3 WGH. A fantastic result and we are into the next round. Well done to all players from 1-14 but a special mention for our man of the match Sean Desmond who was involved with every goal and ensured we also kept a clean sheet.
