Apr 7th – Under 7’s – Another great win for our younger lads… (11-6)
Temple Utd 6 -11 Watergrasshill Utd
Our younger under 7 team kept up their good form with a thrilling game against Temple yesterday Saturday April 7.
Although this is a 7 a side league format Temple kindly agreed with all 9 players getting equal game time.
A quick note on how this game unfolded:
It was goal for goal in the first 3rd with Watergrasshill United fielding a very young team
2-2 at the end of the first 15 minutes, a really close game with nothing between the teams.
In the second 3rd it even got more exciting with 3 more goals for each team in this 3rd, with Sam O Sullivan, Sam Dennehy and Ciaran scoring and showing us all how to play as a team
There were numerous instances of some great defending and attacking moves.
Still nothing between these teams, a really tight close end to end game
In the final third Temple scored first, pressure on ? What Pressure?? We really showed what quality we have in this team scoring 6 goals without reply .
This was a great game to watch with both teams playing some lovely football. Fantastic team work and some fine saves from goal keepers on both teams.
11-6 to Watergrasshill in the end.
A standing ovation was given to both teams at the final whistle as both teams really showed us all HOW THE GAME SHOULD BE PLAYED..
A proud moment indeed for all in attendance.
Well done lads, keep up the good work, remember 90% off this team are under 7 again next season!
Watergrasshill United Squad:
