Apr 24th – U8 Watergrasshill Utd (2) – Carrigaline Albion (1)

2 fantastic free kicks decided the under 8 home game against Carrigaline Albion this evening in Skehanagh Park.

We got off to a great start on a very heavy pitch through a fantastic free kick from Dylan after a short pass from Eoghan. A great save from Ryan prevented Carrigaline to level and some fantastic goalkeeping on the other side stopped Joseph and Dylan from extending the lead. Some great passing between Dylan, Sam and Brendan kept constant pressure on the Carrigaline defense. Eoin O'Mahoney on midfield kept clearing the incoming balls and Darragh on the right made some impressive defensive blocks. The second period ended in 2-0 after another fantastic free kick combination from Dylan and Eoghan, with Eoghan putting the ball in the back of the net.

In the last period the lads forgot to stay in their positions and that allowed Carrigaline to take control and get back in the game with a goal straight through the middle of the defense. The lads were getting tired and were barely holding on as Carrigaline continued to create chances. Some great defense work from Joseph, Daniel and Ryan allowed us to hold on to our leading score. Final score 2-1.
