Sept 8th – U13 Watergrasshill United (3) V (1) Kilreen Celtic

On Saturday Sept. 8th on a beautiful summers morning we hosted Kilreen Celtic in the first league game of the season.

In the first half both teams started nervously and as a result it was a very open game with both teams defending when they had to and attacking when the opportunities arose. The dead lock was not broke till a couple of minutes before half time. Kilreen Celtic scored from a corner kick,

Half time finished WGH 0 - 1 Kilreen Celtic.

It was a completely different game in the second half. After enduring some early pressure from Kilreen we started to dominate the game attacking at will. With 45 gone Sean Desmond levelled the game for us. WGH 1-1 Kilreen Celtic.
From this we grew in confidence and five minutes later scored a spectacular goal from Colin Cronin. WGH 2-1 Kilreen Celtic. From here on it was one way traffic and with a few minutes to go Owen Desmond scored our third goal.
The game finished WGH 3-1 Kilreen Celtic.

Well done to all the lads to-day from 1-14 on great start to the league. Thanks to kilreen Celtic for a great game. Special thanks to all the parents who came up to  support us.
