Sept 15th – U14 Watergrasshill United (6) V (2) Tramore Athletic

On an overcast morning our U14's took to the field in their first match of the 2012/2013 season. We are heading into the unknown this season as we are now taking part in a Division higher than the one we took part in last year. Our 13 man squad this morning consisted of all players on the age i.e. born in 1999.

We started the match in a cautious approach and after an even contest in the first 15 minutes, we took the lead with a long range shot by Daniel. We soon doubled our lead with a Daniel header from Adams cross. We took control from here and goals followed. Karol scored from a pass from Seamus. Daniel fed James to make the score 4-0. The half finished with Daniel completing his hatrick following a fine pass from James.

The second half stated off with Tramore going for broke. Some excellent saves from Kieran kept the clean intact. However Tramore soon pulled one back. For the final 15 minutes we were down to 10 ten after using all our subs as Kieran received an injury after another fine save. Jason took the reins in goal. Tramore with more pressure on our back four soon pulled another back. However we finished the scoring with James rounding the keeper.
