U9 Futsal Update

On Saturday January 19th our U9’s took part in another round of FUTSAL matches. What’s great about FUTSAL is playing teams that otherwise we would never play. It’s great to see the lads play against teams from what would be classed as larger clubs and more than hold their own. This week we were up against Midleton, Crosshaven and Ballincollig. Final outcome was 2 wins and a draw. Well done lads.

It was great to see a large attendance with 10 players on the day and 3 apologies from lads who were unable to make it due to illness. What this brings is less game time for each player as we continue to ensure all the lads get equal playing time while building a squad, as for the next 3 years we participate in non competitive football only.

Another pleasing aspect may not be visible to a lot of people but does not go unnoticed by ourselves. The lads are trying to use the foot they least favour more often, little bits of turning moves they are learning and goal celebrations dances have come on leaps and bounds.

Training Saturday – 4.00 to 5.00 in Community Center. €2.00 per child.
