WGH United u10’s v Rockmount

Our under 10's played their second Small Sided League match earlier today and Rockmount were the visitors.

We started well and got an early goal from Edmond, we kept the pressure up and went into the first break 3-1 in front, this was due to some great crossing of the ball from Bradley and excellent finishing from Ben Nodwell and Edmond.

We made some positional changes today and played some players in different areas and Ben Atkinson was outstanding in the centre of defence

It was a day when everything went right for us and we ran out 6-1 winners with Edmond getting a hat-trick.

Every squad member played a valued part in this win and while some players might not have got a lot of game time,we did get every player on the pitch which is against the rules of this competition as there is a strict rule that you must play a MAXIMUM of 13 players.

We used 16/17 players,so it has been decided that we will not travel to away games with an excess of players.

Your patience and understanding is required here, bearing in mind that come September we will be in the happy position to play a full squad and that will be of benefit to all. It is frustrating to be watching a match and trying to change players every 5/6 mins.

Having said all that it was a great win today and thank you to Rockmount for a very sporting game
