Under 11 Update

Since our last post we have played a series of games and are going along nicely while building our squad to 23/25 players at the moment. We are currently top of Division 2 with recent wins over Bandon 7-3 and Carrigaline Hibs 6-2 We also played Midleton in a very good friendly and gave a very good account of ourselves in a 2-1 loss to a potentially very good premier division team next season. We are making good progress in the Kevin Dillon Cup and had a very good 4-1 win away to Carrigaline yesterday which was followed by a well deserved trip by the squad to Mc Donalds! Yesterdays win was particularly special as the lads were pushing the opposition right from the start and making strong tackles and plenty of movement which was exactly what we asked of them. Our attitude and excellent set pieces from corners carried the day for us and every member of the squad played his part in this victory We will continue with the policy of trying to get good friendlies for the squad to build up everybody's game time and this should make sure every player feels part of the team.We have over 20 training every week which shows excellent commitment from the lads and we will always try to find the balance for those who want to play for fun and those who want to play competitive football. Thanks to the parents for their continued support,we appreciate it but as you know the lads have really bought in to this and when you see 23 ten year old lads training on a wet/cold night, you know they must love it,thanks again
