U16’s with an Emphatic Win in Cup Thriller!

This game had it all - we were up against it as Carrigtwohill are a division above us. We settled in to this game quickly with us scoring within the 1st 10 min. We were playing a lovely passing game and within 25 mins we were 2-0 up. On the 30th min it was 2-1 but just before the break we made it 3-1.  Carrig hit us for another break away goal to make it 3-2 just at the stroke of half time.

In the second half we were well on top but could not get that goal to wrap things up.With 10 mins left to play carrig got there 3rd: 3-3 game on! We pushed hard for the winner but just couldn't find the back of the net - Extra time it was.

A lot of tired bodies from both teams took to the field and within 5 min a penalty for Carrig ...but Tom pulled off a sparkler save! This seemed to be the spark that drove us on to control this game in the second period of extra time we got our 4th.

A great game by two teams who tested each other all the way...into the last 16 we go...what a year for these lads playing as a unit for the 1st time in a few years.

Goal Scorers: James (1), Pearse(1), Aaron(2)

Squad: Tom, Greg, Andrew, Luke, Jack, Sean, Cathal, Seamus, Aaron, James, Neill & Pearse.

Thanks from Noel & Derry.
