U15 League : Riverstown 3 – 0 Watergrasshill Utd
Our U15 team took on Riverstown earlier this morning in the league. Missing several players due to a GAA clash and with one or two players carrying knocks, we knew our 12 man squad would be up against it with Riverstown's 16-man squad.
The game started as a scrappy affair and Riverstown took the lead after 10mins when their centre forward slotted the ball into the bottom corner. From this point on the lads rallied and showed real grit and determination and fought for everything.
The second half started with more of the same, with WGH putting in a dogged display and having Riverstown on the backfoot for the majority of the second half. However, Riverstown took advantage of our tired legs late on and introduced a few fresh players who increased the lead of the home team.
While the result didn't go our way today, the team performance could not be faulted and the lads deserve praise for the heart and determination they showed until the very end.
Training Continues Thursday 7-8.30pm.
Thanks from Mark, Frank, Dan & Chris.
