U15: WGH 0 – 5 Everton

Oasis wrote a song “Don’t Look Back In Anger”, today's result must be looked as for what it was, a game in which we went one down against the run of play. Going two down resulted in heads dropping and as a result Everton picked us off for 3 more goals, giving a flattering scoreline to them.

We set our own standards and when we don’t meet them we have to look at ourselves as a unit on how to avoid this happening again. There is no disgrace is losing to a better team as long as individuals, we can look at ourselves and say “I gave it my all”.

As a team it wasn’t there for us today but there were some excellent individual performances.

The first half was positive as we try to adapt to a new style of football. Encouraging signs are there and improvements a plenty. We controlled most of the half without putting any major pressure on the Everton keeper. However we were caught once and Everton made us pay. Half Time: Watergrasshill Utd 0 Everton 1

Second half to come, we thought we would pull this back. Everton came more into the game and took a major hold of the game with the second goal. 2 more goals from through balls and a penalty left the final score at 5-0 to Everton.
