WEEKEND SCHEDULE

MAY 30^TH – JUNE 02, 2014

FRIDAY May 30^TH:

6pm-11pm:      The Main Street will be closed for traffic from the gates below Centra to the Glenville Road (At the end of the Fir Tree).

7pm-9pm:     “DUSTBUSTERS” Light Orchestra (www.dustbusterslightorchestra.org), will open the Weekend’s festivities by welcoming people entering the village and will be situated opposite Centra, playing pop, movie, modern & classical music. As a contingency, if the weather is poor they will perform in the Community Hall in the village.

7pm-11pm:      Children’s entertainment, will be situated in an area on the left hand side as one passes Centra consisting of bouncy castle, swinging boats, children’s train, all recommended for children < 10 years, game stall also, nominal fee applies.

7pm-10pm:    Food Stalls throughout the main street: Volcano Pizzas, Crepe Man,  Doireann’s Delights & Fudges, O’Flynn’s Sausages, Annie’s Roast, O’Connell’s Coffee & Chocolate PLUS Several Local food & craft connoisseurs

7.30-8.15pm:             “Inter Pub FUN” Tug Of War Competition on the Main Street where Kades County, Glenville, Fir Tree, The Hut Bar and O’Mahony’s compete in the batlle of the pubs.

9.30pm-11pm:             Live Concert by the HOT GUITARS at the end of the Main Street.

DJ throughout the night!!

SATURDAY MAY 31^ST: (Morning)

9.30am:          50 kilometer ”Family Fun Cycle” in conjunction with Over The Hill Cycling Club www.overthehillcc.com Meeting point & event registration is at the National School at 8.30am. Start 9.30 am. Entry Fee: Individual Entry (Over 16's only) = € 10, Family Rate (Two or more Over 16’s only) = € 20. Water & rest stop available at Lisgoold Community Centre en route. Finish point is at the First Fruits Art Centre where teas & coffees await participants.

11am:                8 kilometer “Family Fun Run” in conjunction with Watergrasshill Athletics Club. Meeting point & event registration is at the National School Hall 9.30am-10.30, Start 11am. Entry Fee €10 per adult and €5 for under 16s, family rate (2 or more Over 16’s only) = € 20. If interested in participating, contact Dave Murphy (086-0749776) or Derry Desmond (087-6964588)

There will be a water/snack station at Watergrasshill United’s Grounds at Skehanagh. Finish point is at the First Fruits Art Centre where teas & coffees await participants.

SATURDAY MAY 31^TH: (Evening)

6pm-11pm:    The Main Street will be closed for traffic from the traffic lights above Centra to the Glenville Road (At the end of the Fir Tree)

SUNDAY JUNE 01^ST

10am-3.30pm:   Underage Soccer Tournament at Watergrasshill United’s Grounds, Boys & Girls <10 years involving numerous Clubs from Cork. ALL participants will receive medals plus a “goody bag”. Medals & trophy for winning teams. Watergrasshill Scout Group will have burgers etc for sale as a fundraiser. This event is sponsored by NB Shipping, Little Island, Cork

6.30pm-8pm:   Annual Over 35’s Soccer Tournament at Watergrasshill United’s Grounds. This event is sponsored by The Port of Cork. Contact Derry Desmond (087-6964588) to signup your local team. Max 10 players, 1 Female on the pitch at any time.

9pm-late:       DJ & Over 35’s Tournament Official Presentations of Trophy & “wooden spoon” awards in the HUT Bar Watergrasshill.

MONDAY JUNE 02

10.30am:       Family Orienteering in Condonstown Woods. For info contact any member of the Watergrasshill National School’s Parent’s Association or PM us on Facebook. Start between 10.30 – 11.30. Walk ins welcome.

8pm:              Barn Dance, First Fruits Arts Centre, arrangements by Michael Murphy Watergrasshill
