Under 12s go to Lisdoonvarna, Lisdoon, Lisdoon, Lisdoonvarna
Under 12's go to Lisdoonvarna,Lisdoon Lisdoon Lisdoon Lisdoonvana, ohhhh Lisdoonvarna, how's it going there every body?well here we are in the County Clare,it's a long long way from here to there.
Our U12 Team was invited to play 2 friendlies in Lisdoonvarna by the host club, Sporting Ennistymon, and we headed off early Saturday morning by bus for what turned out to be a very enjoyable trip for all of us.
After the long trip Marcus led the lads out on a run around the Cliffs of Moher to take in the beautiful views and to stretch the lads legs,Paul,Mark, and myself stayed behind to find a bookies to get our football coupons sorted,so no different to any other Saturday there then.
So on to the games and we played at the facilities of Burren Fc, great facilities and perfect pitches, and 2 great games where everyone was involved and thankfully the weather was with us for the day.
On then to Lahinch for a dip in the sea, dinner and ice-cream to follow.
My thanks to Dennis,he is the FAI's man in Clare and he made this visit possible, we were made most welcome by Dennis and the managers as well as the players of Ennistymon, dinner was also looked after by them, and again I want to thank them on behalf of all at Watergrasshill United, we appreciate your kindness to us on a great day out.
Thanks also to Burren Fc for the use of the grounds on the day and to our driver for the day, who facilitated the few toilet stops for the lads,
Thanks to all the lads who gave us no cause to have any kind of bother for the whole day, a pleasure to take away anytime,
Thanks to the pillow that was carried everywhere, you had to have been there to understand that one!!
Lastly, Southampton let the 3 of us down for a winning docket, no different to any other Saturday there then,
