Watergrasshill United U11 (9) vs Douglas Hall (2) CSL Division 2

Our Watergrasshill United U11 team travelled to Douglas this morning to take on Douglas Hall U11A in their second CSL Division 2 League match. On what was a fabulous sunny morning, we started in a 431 formation on the astro turf pitch in Moneygourny. It took the lads a few minutes to get used to the astro turf and the full width of the adult size pitch. A great cross from the left hand side took a deflection in the 7th minute and gave us a well deserved lead. We changed our formation to 341 and played some great pressing play using the extra player in midfield and some great passing. Within 20 minutes we scored another 3 times of which 2 came out of corners form the right hand side. We got a bit over confident and Douglas got a simple goal just before half time. Half time score Douglas hall U11A (1) - Watergrasshill United U11 (4). Douglas started the 2nd half strong and scored 2-4 from a goal kick that bounced over our defenders. We changed to a back 4 again, and came back into the game by a cross from the left hand side that was scrambled into the goal only a minute later making it 2-5. 4 more goals followed in the last 20 minutes in where we used the space Douglas left us on the wings and were we didn't give away any more chances. Final Score : Douglas hall U11A (2) - Watergrasshill United U11 (9)

Well done lads. A great game where we saw some great passing, solid defending, fantastic corner kicks, great effort on the wings and in the back but also a lot of things we can improve on. So training continues next Tuesday from 7-8.30. €2 contribution.
