Kevin Dillon Cup – Corinthians (3) v (2) Watergrasshill United

One of our U11’s team went out of the Kevin Dillon Cup this afternoon, with an away defeat to Corinthians. With a strong wind at our backs we were 1 down after 4 minutes with some poor play from ourselves. It took a while for the lads to adjust to the windy conditions but to be honest we never fully took advantage of the strong wind. Our passes were lacking, and at times over hit, our defence struggled to cope with Corinthians on the break and on numerous occasions we were wide open. We pulled a goal back on the 17th minute with a long range goal from Ryan outside the box. We pushed on and took the lead when the ball broke for Adam to put in the net. Being on top, we pushed for another goal before the break to try take advantage of the elements but a break away from Corinthians on the 25th minute has the score at 2 -2 for the HT break.

We started off very well in the 2nd half and left a few good chances behind us before Corinthians took the lead in the 43th minute with a goal from a free kick. We changed things up for the final 17 minutes but were unable to score the equaliser.
