Watergrasshill U11A’s reach Quarter Finals of Kevin Dillon Cup

Our Watergrasshill U11A team reached the Quarter Finals of Kevin Dillon Cup in a hard fought match against Macroom U11A earlier today.

With a strong wind facing us in the first half, Macroom took the lead from a well taken free kick. It took a while for the lads to adjust to the windy conditions and they never really get into the game the first half. However there was some great space on the right wing with Jack creating some great chances. Half time score Macroom U11a (1) - Watergrasshill (0).

With the wind in the back, we  started the second half all guns blazing. Ben, who started in Goal in the first half and swapped with Daniel, almost scored from the kick off. The scene was set. Within 5 minutes Ben converted one of his powerful shots into a goal. 1-1. We pushed on and took the lead when the ball broke for Timmy to put in the net. Being on top, we pushed for another goal, and a fantastic free kick from Sam put us 2 ahead. We parked the bus, 10 minutes before time and didn't give away any more chances. Well done lads,  5 wins in a row.

Today's Squad: Ben F, Denis C, Sam, Daniel (C), Caolan, Tim, Eimantas, David, Eoin O'M, Eoghan O'L, Jack H

Today's goal Scorers: Tim Sexton, Ben Flanagan, Sam Dennehy.
