U11Richmond (1) v (7) Watergrasshill United

For our first match of the New Year, we played Richmond from Waterfall at their home pitch in Wilton. Richmond are currently sitting in 3rd place in the table. With the recent weather, the playing surface was quiet good underfoot. We had most on the possession in the first 15 minutes but couldn’t break through. Richmond were strong & physical and well able to tackle although few lads picked up some knocks from sliding tackles. We finally scored in the 20th minute from Nicky. On the 25th minute we were awarded a penalty which Brendan dispatched and Nicky increased his goal tally in the 27th minute. By this time we had started our rotation of subs. HT – Richmond (0) v (3) Watergrasshill United The conditions were now in our favour although Richmond were starting to see more of the ball. Rory increased our lead from a corner in the 38th minute and the game stated to balance itself off with both sides rotating subs, ensuring in our case today of every player, playing 2/3rds of the match. It took us 15 more minutes to increase our lead with goals from Adam & Dylan. Richmond pulled one back before Brendan now playing upfront scored his second. Final Score - Richmond (1) v (7) Watergrasshill United The rolling on / off of players is starting to pay dividends for us now with players growing more in confidence. It will help us more down the line when players are not available as every position now has at least two players more than capable of playing there. Today's Squad: Ronan, Daniel, Brendan, Joseph, Ryan, Cillian, Eoghan, Nicky, Dylan Feehan, Adam, Darragh, Rory Training continues next Tuesday from 7-8.30. Astro training on Wednesday Sarsfield GAA - €2 contribution covers both night
