County Cup 4th Round

Our Juniors bowed out of the County Cup in the 4th round on Saturday away to St John Boscos A. Playing at their new home we went down on a harsh 4-1 scoreline to the Div 1 side.
We were slow out of the blocks and were punished as we went two down within 15 minutes but fought our way back with a battling goal from Johnny Dorgan to be only one in arrears before half time. We pushed on and the contest was even with both sides making good use of the wide pitch to get passing movements going but at the same time restricted to long range efforts on goal. Unfortunately we conceeded a third from a speculative effort with about 20 minutes remaining. As a last throw of the dice we sacraficed a defender to try to get back into it but were caught on the break to a fine counter attack.
It was a game that could easily have had a very different scoreline but in the end it was not to be.

Best for the Hill were Dave Dennehy who threw himself around up front without any actual reward, John O Brien in a new role in midfield and Fergal Murphy who was solid at the back.
