league update under 12’s

This morning we played Mayfield on our home pitch and great credit is due to Dean in having the pitch in such good condition at this time of the year. A lot of clubs had to cancel games again today but we were lucky enough to be able to play. A very tight and combative first half saw us leading 1-0 and we eventually ran out 3-0 winners, but again like the majority of matches we played this season there is very little between teams at this level. As it stands we are second to Midleton with same amount of games played and have to play them home and away and Rockmount who are 3rd also a home and away situation.

So 6 league games left and nothing between the top 3. Thanks once again to all those who help out with the teas and coffees as part of our fund raising towards the Holland trip in May, greatly appreciated, and we are grateful for all contributions.

Our next venture is a Quiz Night in the Fir Tree on the 20th February, hopefully we'll get a good supporting crowd out on the night for what will be a memorable event for these lads, finger food will be available on the night, bring a friend, bring a relative. Our target is € 2,000 and this should cover transport to and from the airport to the camp centre, transport from the camp centre to the tournament, activities at the camp site, entry to Ajax Stadium for a tour of their facilities, food for 3 days, excess baggage, new club top for the journey, the more we can raise as a group it lessens the chance of parents having to give more. Looking forward to seeing a good show of support on the night
