Avondale U11a vs Watergrasshill U11a

Our U11a's faced another tough battle earlier today against Avondale. We travelled with the bare minimum of 9 players to Beaumont Park, where the lads had to work hard to keep a well passing and moving Avondale at bay. Eoin, Sam and Ben, helped by Ross, were in control at the back and mostly snuffed out the Avondale attacks when they managed to break through a hardworking midfield of Seweryn, Eoghan, and Eimantas. We didn't give much away in the first half with Seweryn, Ross, Jake and Sam creating some great chances and Olan was solid in goal. Half time score: Avondale U11a (0) - Watergrasshill United U11a (0).

In the second half Avondale increased the pressure in mid field and caught us on the break a few times but some great goalkeeping of Olan kept us in the match. 5 minutes before time an Avondale defender picked up the ball at the half way line, passed a few Watergrasshill players and lashed the ball in the back of the net. In the remaining five minutes we didn't  give up and Sam, Ross and Seweryn were close to the equaliser but unfortunately time wasn't on our. A great game of football between two equal teams who gave it their all in the quest for victory. Final Score: Avondale U11a (1) - Watergrasshill United U11a (0).
