WGH Utd Annual Academy Fun Tournament

Watergrasshill United will host our Third Annual Academy Fun Tournament on Saturday May 30th from 9.30am to 5pm with over 300 kids set to take part.

U6-U8 teams take part from 9.30am - 12.15pm and U9-U10 teams take part from 1.30pm-5pm.

Clubs confirmed thus far : Watergrasshill United, Douglas Hall, Springfield Ramblers, Midelton, Mayfield, Ballinhassig, Riverstown.

All teams are to register no later than 30mins before their first game. All games will start and finish at the same time. All players will get a medal and a goodie bag at the end of the tournament.

There will be a shop available on the day with a selection of drinks,sweets,chocolate etc for sale.

Rules are as follows:

UNDER 6 & UNDER 7 RULES

  • 5 a side, 7 per team
  • Roll Off/on subs
  • 3 points for win, 1 for a draw
  • Goal difference doesn’t count
  • Players can kick throws in
  • Keepers can kick ball out from hands
  • 15 mins per game, no halftime break
  • If teams are tied a penalty shoot out of 3 players from each team will take place.
  • 3rd & 4rd placed play for 3rd spot
  • Top 2 play in final
  • No direct goals from free kicks or goal kicks
  • Grass Pitch
  • All games must begin on time. No added Time
  • Decision of the referee/organizers is final

UNDER 8 RULES

  • 7 a side, 10 per team
  • Roll Off/on subs
  • 3 points for win, 1 for a draw
  • Goal difference doesn’t count
  • Encourage player to throw ball but not necessary
  • Keepers can kick ball out from hands
  • 15 mins per game, no halftime break
  • 3rd & 4rd placed play for 3rd spot
  • Top 2 play in final
  • No direct goals from free kicks or goal kicks
  • Grass Pitch
  • All games must begin on time. No added Time
  • If teams are tied a penalty shoot out of 3 players from each team will take place
  • Decision of the referee/organizers is final

  • Top 2 from each group qualify. First in each group play final, 2nd placed play for 3rd spot

  • Throw Ins

Code of Conduct for Parents & Supporters

  • No Dogs Allowed in the grounds at any time ( except guide dogs)
  • Parents/Supporters must not question the referee
  • Players should be encouraged at all times
  • Parents & Managers are to remain off the field of play at all times
  • No coaching from parents on the sideline
  • Any repeat offenders of any of the above will be asked to leave the grounds
