Watergrasshill U12b take home win away to Kinsale

Our U12 Div 7 team traveled to Kinsale earlier today on what was a glorious morning. With a clear view of the Ocean and of Charles Fort we started with Shane in goal taking over from Daniel who carried an injury. Daniel had been rock solid in goal for the last 6 matches and hopefully can join us again soon. Shane was a great replacement for Daniel with a man of the match performance. Shane pulled out all the stops and saved the ball over and over again. We started with 3 in the back, Eoin, Gareth and David, 3 in midfield, Ben, Eimantas and Eoghan, and Colm and Darragh up front. Kinsale put us under pressure from the start and we were lucky to take the lead in the 12th minute. A throw from Ben was received by Colm, who lobbed the ball over the defence to Darragh, who was completely free in front of the goal. 1-0. Kinsale was upping the pressure and for the next 45 minutes it was all hands on deck. We switched to a back 4 and introduced Caolan for some extra pressure in midfield. Some unbelievable saves from Shane kept us in the game. The lads had to work hard and give it their all for the rest of the match and we were very lucky to come away with a win today. Well done lads. Great team spirit.
