Juniors on a roll!

4 games played, 12 points! Liverpool? Chelsea? No, it’s the WGH Utd Juniors with their best start to a season since Johnny B was in short pants. Missing a number of players for the away trip to Garryduff, it was an unfamiliar looking lineup that soon went on the offensive with Peter Heavey and Cian Field going close. Cian opened the scoring with a contender for ‘Goal of the Season’ when his pass/cross/clearance (insert as appropriate!) from near the halfway line deceived the keeper and went all the way to the net. Unfortunately, the Hill couldn’t keep a clean sheet until the break conceding from a header.

In the 2nd half, we rode our luck with Parkview twice blazing over the bar before Colin put the meat in the roll with a thumping header from a Cian Field corner. Then, 5 minutes before the end, Paddy put the icing on the muffin with another thumping header on his Hill debut, again from a Cian Field corner!

Ourselves and Grangevale are pulling away from the pack now in the League, both unbeaten, but next week, it’s the 1st cup match of the season.
