Nov 26 – Watergrasshill V Castlelyons Under 8’s

Watergrasshill Under 8's V Castlelyons 26/11/2011

Today we took on Castlelyons with the help of some of our Academy Girls in what was really our first Under 8 match this season. All along we have being playing against Under 9 teams and today we saw the benefit of that. Goals from Eoghan (2), Daniel (2) with a little help on one from a Castlelyons defender, Joseph & Dylan saw us run out 6-2 winners. I forget how many times we hit the post & crossbar. A brilliant double save from Ryan, terrier like tackling from David, tireless running from Dylan, excellent composure from Joseph, bundles of energy from Brendan & clinical finishing from Eoghan & Daniel was a pleasure to watch.

It was great to see the lads looking for & putting passes together, taking opportunities when they came their way & growing in confidence, although at the end maybe to much as at times we neglected the basics.

We adopt a rotating policy to ensure that players play in all positions - defence, midfield & attack so they can learn more about the game.
