U14’s and U15’s Suffer Defeats

Our U14’s & 15’s had a busy two days, with the majority of them playing two matches in two days, some a year below, others a year above. Special thank to the lads and their parents for their continued commitment to both teams. We appreciate this.

U14’s

On Sunday we took on Carrigtwohill hoping to maintain our 2nd place position in the table. Taking to the field with 10 players the lads kept the game scoreless till Half Time. After the break, with the events of their efforts & success in Hurling Féile the previous day and the loss of Niall in goal leaving us with 9 players, we came out on the wrong end of a 3 – 0 scoreline.

Squad: Niall, Seamus, Lee, Shane, Padraig O B, Christy, Padraig O L, Evan, Sean

Final Score: Carrigtwohill 3 Watergrasshill Utd 0

U15’s

Our U15’s took on league leaders Riverstown today. In a sea-saw game we went one down early on only for James to equalise, Riverstown took the leads again only for Simon to equalise with Riverstown scoring again to take a 3-2 lead into Half Time.

Second half Andrew brought us back into the game. 3 – 3. Surely not, oh yes, Riverstown scored again with Simon then making the game 4 – 4. We had lost Kieran in goal at half time and with the effects of knocks & tiredness playing its part, we conceded another 4 goals to leave a final score of 8 – 4 to Riverstown.

Final Score: Watergrasshill Utd 4 Riverstown 8

Scorers: Simon (2), James, Andrew

Squad: Kieran, Adam, Luke, Conor, Dan, Greg, Andrew, Simon, James, Lee, Karol, Tom.
