Under 11 update
Following up from our terrific but hard fought victory in the semi-final of the Local Cup against Rockmount we were away to Ballincollig on Thursday night for a top of the table clash. We came away with a 1-3 so we retain top spot in Division 2 and have 8 league games to play.
That win against Rockmount sees us in Tuners Cross on Thursday night with kick off at 6, I saw a note from the School Boys League where admission is € 5 for adults and € 2 for kids under 16.
We train as normal tomorrow night but we would like to talk with all the parents after training as we need to go through a few details to make sure everything goes smoothly on the night. This is a completely different situation to a league match and there are criteria set down by the School Boys League which we must follow, we will explain this criteria at training and if there are any questions then that is the time to ask and we will be in a position where we have the time to respond rather than before or during the game.
We go in to this game as massive underdogs and no matter what the result we know the lads have done great to get this far and they deserve whatever praise comes their way,Lakewood won the Premier Division and in that regard we are up against it. But,these lads have never been found wanting and their will to win and team spirit is 100% no matter in league or cup matches, so get behind them on the night, encourage them, and your support might make the difference on the night.
We will be laying on some food after in the Fir Tree no matter win or lose and hopefully the entire squad and parents will come back and join us,
Lastly, thank you to the members of the club who put up the bunting and the support banners, we appreciate you taking the time and effort to do this and it's a nice thing for the lads to see the village get behind them, thanks also to those who have emailed and texted their good wishes..thank you all On behalf of the squad, Paul, Marcus and myself we can only say, Come on the Hill, see you in Turners Cross.
