Watergrasshill U12b (5) – St. Mary’s A (3)

Our U12 Div 7 team made in two in a row today with a well earned win against St. Mary's A at our Skehanagh Park grounds. With 3 of our lads leaving at half time to play the U11 GAA Football County Final our game plan was to give it our all from the very beginning. The strategy worked well and Darragh put his name on the goal sheet only 4 minutes into the game. 4 minutes later, pressing from Colm and Ben lead to an OG from St. Mary's. 2-0. The St. Mary's defence was tricked by Ben, 10 minutes later and a fantastic pass over the defence landed with Colm who didn't hesitate and put the 3-0 on the score board. Ben, Darragh and Colm left at half time and were replaced by Brian, Ben and Alistair. Daniel changed from goalie to forward and scored within the 2nd minute of the second half. St. Mary's started to put us under pressure and scored 3 times within 15 minutes. Shane was taken off injured and we were struggling to hold our lead in the remainder of the match. We gave it our all and fought for every ball. The final whistle didn't come soon enough. Final Score: Watergrasshill U12B (5) - Passage U12A (3)

Our next Match will be a cup game in the U12 Albert Conboye Cup on SUNDAY SEP 27 away against Buttevant. Text to follow closer to the date. We will be organising car pooling to the match.
