U14 Watergrasshill Utd (5) V (1) Kinsale

Our U14's returned to winning ways this morning with their first home game of the season. A comprehensive 5 -1 win over a strong Kinsale team was a just reward for some excellent play from the lads. Within 10 minutes we were 2 up, with goals from Sean and Owen. Evan was a constant threat to Kinsale with lovely touch play and linked well with Sean to cause Kinsale havoc on the right. Padraig and Colin were building a foundation in the middle of the pitch and rotating duties between themselves to excellent effect. The defence was being marshalled by Niall and gave a good foundation for the midfield to drive forward. Within 10 minutes two more goals arrived courtesy of an OG and Evan, his first of the season. Padraig then increased our lead with an excellent goal form a corner to leave the score 5 -0 to Watergrasshill at HT. The second half stated off well for us with Seamus, Lee, Tom and Shane taking all Kinsales attacks in their stride. The match lost its rhythm and the game faded away from us. Kinsale pulled one back with about 15 minutes to go to leave the final score 5 - 1. Cillian, Jake and Mark played their part in an excellent team performance.
