U11a Corkbeg (3) V (2) Watergrasshill United

Our U11a's faced another tough challenge earlier tonight against Corkbeg. It was our 3rd time this season with the previous two going Corkbegs way in a 3 -2 scoreline. It was our first visit to Corkbeg and I must say the pitch was in excellent condition. A flat surface with plenty of width. Things didn’t go our way and after 5 minutes we were a goal down. We struggled for a while and Corkbeg had the majority of play. We grabbed a well deserved goal back before half time through Seweryn and went into the break on an even scoreline. In the second half we were a bit more organised and we grew more confident. Corkbeg however came more into the game with their subs and deserved to take the lead. At times we scrambled & hustled and deservedly equalised again through Seweryn. 2-2. With Corkbeg in contention for the league they threw everything at us and with 5 minutes to go were awarded a penalty. They duly scored and held on till the end. Another 3 – 2 scoreline against us. Special mention to Corkbegs Coach, Anthony who not for the first time spoke to the players with some kind words. Great performance lads. Today's Squad: Ben F, Eoin O'M, Sam, Seweryn, Jack, Eimantas, Tim, David, Daniel Today's goal Scorers: Seweryn (2) Special thanks to all parents and all other supporters for their continued support. Match this Saturday @ home to Riverstown. Please be at pitch for 10.00. €3 For Ref fees.
